My Experience

I view a therapist's own personal development work as being central to their competence. I have engaged in extensive ongoing personal work, particularly in the areas of healthy relationships, intimacy and authentic communication, and meditation.

I am also a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (#001937), and graduated with a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology (2005), from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.

Since graduating, I have provided therapy to diverse clients through work in the social service sector and in private practice. I maintain and develop my skill by attending trainings, conferences and through peer consultation.

My intersectional analysis is informed by my own cultural location and ongoing community engagement.

It is worth saying that in addition to a therapist's approach and modalities, research shows that an important variable in therapy is the container of trust and human connection that is possible between us. That safe, reliable connection is my priority.
